Brief Description of the Project and Main Objectives
The objective of the project is to improve the role of the Ombudsman Institution in the protection and promotion of human rights.
Achieved Results / Expected Outputs
- Improving the knowledge and experience of the staff of the Ombudsman Institution on best practices and experiences through international cooperation works such as trainings, study visits and assignments
- Raising the awareness of the public and the public institutions on the mandate and functioning of the Ombudsman Institution
- Under the project, activities are carried out to increase the competence of the staff of the institution and to raise public awareness about the institution.
With the project, the public’s interest in the Ombudsman Institution increased, and the annual number of applications rose from 5,000 to 15,000.
With the project, the efficiency of the institution was also significantly improved, and the compliance rate of the administration with the recommendations given by the Ombudsman Institution increased from 32% in 2014 to 80% in 2022.
