Brief Description of the Project and Main Objectives
The objective of the project is to support the Ministry of Family and Social Services and the Ministry of Labour and Social Security in order to improve the standards of child care services and to implement holistic and rights-based policies in the fight against child labour in the best interests of the children.
Achieved Results / Expected Outputs
- Building the capacity of the Ministry of Family and Social Services and the Ministry of Labour and Social Security for the protection of children and raising the awareness of the public in this regard
- Building the advocacy capacities of the non-governmental organizations working in the field of children’s rights
- Increasing awareness in the public and relevant public institutions regarding the prevention of early marriages, identifying children at risk and improving their referral to child care services
- Improving the standards, quality and accessibility of child care services
- Increasing institutional capacity in preventing and monitoring child labour
- Developing new tools for timely identification of vulnerable children (children exposed to child labour, child exploitation, physical and sexual abuse, early marriage and living on the street) and increasing the treatment and rehabilitation capacity for these children
Within the scope of the project, activities were carried out to raise the standards of child care services, to provide capacity support in the fight against child labour, to raise public awareness on the fight against early marriages and to support the capacity of civil society on children’s rights.
In this context, Public Advocacy for Children’s Rights: Step by Step Guide for Preparing an Action Plan was prepared, an awareness seminar was organized, 111,000 promotional materials were distributed, a pilot application on child care services was carried out, for monitoring child labor a national working group was established and a Psychological Support Model for vulnerable children has been developed.
