The fifth of our training series aimed at enhancing the capacities of law enforcement in the field of fundamental rights was completed with the training held in Istanbul on November 13-14. Our previous fundamental rights training sessions for law enforcement were organized in Zonguldak, Ankara, Kars, and Izmir.
Law enforcement officers from the Turkish National Police and Gendarmerie General Command serving in Van, Batman, Şırnak, Siirt, and Hakkâri provinces participated in the training. A total of 38 representatives, including 15 women and 23 men, attended the training. The topics covered during the training included the promotion and protection of fundamental rights in accordance with EU legislation, specifally on combating violence against women and domestic violence, freedom of assembly and organization, and the prevention of torture and ill-treatment
