Türkiye is among 23 OECD countries that have successfully implemented gender-responsive budgeting into their practices.

According to the “Gender Budgeting in OECD Countries 2023” report recently published by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Türkiye has made progress by being among the 23 countries that have implemented gender-responsive budgeting practices and has been included in the mid-level countries.

The report highlights the programmes and technical assistance provided to parliamentarians and public officials under the “Implementation of Gender-Responsive Planning and Budgeting in Türkiye” Project implemented under IPA Fundamental Rights, and states that Türkiye has adopted gender-responsive budgeting as part of the performance budgeting framework and developed effective measures in this direction.
