Closing Event of the Project on Supporting Children’s Rights in Türkiye

The closing conference of the Project on Supporting Children’s Rights in Türkiye, implemented under the 2017 programming of the IPA Fundamental Rights Sector, was held on October 31, 2024, in Ankara, with the participation of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs, Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay.

As part of the conference, a panel on children’s rights and child protection services was organized, along with a dedicated session held by the working group on the psychosocial support model, one of the project’s key outputs.

Launched in November 2021, the project enhanced the coordination capacity of the Ministry of Family and Social Services, the main beneficiary, in the field of child protection; improved the standards and quality of child care services; and increased the capacity to identify children in vulnerable situations and to provide psychosocial support services. In addition, the project supported the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, a co-beneficiary, in strengthening its capacity to combat child labour.
