Conference on “Gender-Responsive Budgeting as a Transformative Approach Towards an Equal and Just Society: International Experiences”

As part of the “Implementation of Gender-Responsive Planning and Budgeting in Türkiye” project under the IPA Fundamental Rights Sector, the conference titled “Gender-Responsive Budgeting as a Transformative Approach Towards an Equal and Just Society: International Experiences” was held on 29–30 May. The conference provided a platform for sharing knowledge and experiences regarding gender-responsive budgeting practices at national, regional, and global levels.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs, Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay, also attended the conference as a speaker. In his speech, Ambassador Bozay emphasized the importance of cooperation with the EU in advancing women’s rights in Türkiye and highlighted that the protection of the rights of vulnerable groups is one of the key priorities in the area of fundamental rights.

Thanks to the contributions of this project, which has been a good practice example since its inception, Türkiye has become one of the 23 OECD countries implementing gender-responsive budgeting.
